Photolucida, an arts nonprofit based in Portland, Oregon, has  selected Jerry Takigawa’s Balancing Cultures portfolio as a Top 50 finalist in their 2017 Critical Mass program. Portfolios from over 600 photographers were submitted to Critical Mass 2017. Entries were reviewed by 30 preliminary jurors and narrowed to 200 finalists. The finalist portfolios were then reviewed by the Critical Mass jury, comprised of 200 top museum curators, gallerists, publishers, editors, and media producers.

The Critical Mass Top 50 artists’ work will be shown as an exhibition to be curated by Alexa Becker of Kehrer Verlag Publishers at a European Photography Festival next summer—details forthcoming!
