Defined as the line at which the earth’s surface and the sky appear to meet, horizons can also signify the limits of a person’s mental perception, experience or interest. In Expanding Horizons, Jerry Takigawa and Pamela Takigawa invite you to look past the obvious, the immediate, the surface. The result is a rich and provocative look at two different approaches in quest of the same end—the appreciation and protection of the environment.

Expanding Horizons, an exhibition of photographs by Jerry Takigawa and monotypes by Pamela Takigawa, opens Saturday, September 28, with a reception from 5–7 pm.
