Takigawa Poster to be Part of International Communication Project, exhibited in Venice, Italy
The Italian design initiative, Natural Recall, will open its inaugural exhibition on November 22, 2014, at Serri dei Giardini in Venice, Italy. Natural Recall is a non-profit cultural project, “born from the synergy of people with different skills and experience, united in the common aim of raising the creative community and stimulating the debate on issues with strong social impact.” It explores the affinity and connection between man and nature. 40 of 84 invitational works will be on display through December 31. A book, published by Qupé editions, Paris, will accompany the exhibition.
About his poster, Jerry said, “We have a saying, Plant a Kiss, which simply means to place a kiss—but by reversing the order of the words to Kiss a Plant, the implied meaning expands to express the love of a plant. As an adult, I recognized a certain scent in the air during the spring of each year. This sweet fragrance was noticed whenever I was near the river in the valley where I live. This scent is intoxicating as it recalls a rush of joy and freedom. With the help of my wife, we identified what we called the green smell, as freshly leafing cottonwood trees. This bouquet reconnected me to outdoor activities in my childhood and adolescence that were pure joy.”
